Interview – TOMMY KUTI: Afrobeats is a way of uniting cultures

Interviews

It's all a game (Ololufemi) it's the new song by TOMMY KUTI, a multifaceted artist, one of the first rappers to make Afrobeats in Italian, author, actor, speaker and podcaster.

Track with summery ambitions shows an unreleased version of the Afro-Italian artist, always very sharp in his lyrics that explore social issues and the experiences of Afro-Italians, because it tells a playful love story with a woman. “Ololufemi” in Yoruba, Tommy's native language, in fact means “my love”.

All the focus is on the sound that fuses afrobeats, amapiano, rap and pop, a trademark of Kuti since his first productions.

THE VIDEO INTERVIEW

Tommy Kuti's latest song was “Milano Be Like” feat. Eritrean singer Sina Tekle, which highlights the contradictions of the metropolis, a city of fashion, design, work but also of contrasts, with still many prejudices and hidden shadows.
