The song ‘sacrificed’ by Shakira that we will not hear in ‘Women no longer cry’

Music news

Shakira finally confirmed the track listing for his new studio album: Women no longer cry. A recording project that we have been hearing about since 2021 and that will definitely come to fruition in 2024, offering a gigantic review of one of the most decisive moments in the personal and professional career of the Colombian soloist.

The one from Barranquilla has brought together each and every one of the songs that she has been presenting since July 2021 except one. That summer month almost 3 years ago, the performer kicked off her new musical era with the premiere of the song Don’t wait up. A song in which he threw himself into the arms of electronic music, offering an EDM hit that presented a completely different facet as an artist.

Shakira was promoting that song throughout 2021, ensuring that it was just a sample of what her next musical adventure was going to contain. However, destiny seems to have other plans reserved for the Colombian. In a scenario dominated by Latin urban sounds, the singer finally found the perfect setting to tell everyone about the personal situation she was going through.

All of his subsequent songs had as a common denominator the story of the breakup of his relationship and the situation in which he had been left with his children Milan and Sasha. And for the next two years her success surrounded each and every one of her subsequent singles marking new milestones in the history of Latin music.

In that maelstrom and with that idea in mind, it seems that the song that opened her new musical stage did not quite fit into the final list of Women No Longer Cry. There are even those who say that Don’t wait up still showed Shakira who made references in her lyrics to the possibility of continuing to enjoy the love of her partner. Others, however, argue, not without reason, that the only song in English that the vocalist and composer seems to have recorded in the last 3 years (although we have not yet been able to listen to the entire album in its entirety) did not fit into this project in Spanish. .

Don’t wait up was the first song we heard after the El Dorado era of Barranquilla and the song with which it seemed that the soloist began to celebrate her 30 years of musical career. Finally it seems to have been the ‘sacrificed’ song since it is the only one of her singles that we will not find on the album.
