Morad accepts a two-year prison sentence

Music news

Bad news for fans of Morad. The rapper has accepted two years in prison for attacking agents of the Local Police of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona). As Europa Press has reported, it all happened when the agents asked him to stop recording in the street as he did not have permission to do so, but the people present began to scold them.

The trial was going to take place this Wednesday, February 28, at the Barcelona Court, but the rapper and the Prosecutor’s Office have reached an agreement and, after admitting the crimes, he has accepted the two-year sentence. If this had not been the case, the Prosecutor’s Office requested seven years in prison. “In the sentence that the court handed down this Wednesday, a highly qualified extenuating mitigation of reparation for the damage was applied to the singer because he has already committed more than 2,400 euros in civil liability,” the statement explains.

In addition, the rapper’s defense has requested that his imprisonment be suspended as it is a two-year sentence. In the case of the Prosecutor’s Office, it has been in favor and now the court will have to evaluate it.

What really happened? As we mentioned in previous lines, Morad was recording a video clip on August 14, 2021 in the streets of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat with 150 people. The Urban Police officers arrived after receiving several complaints from neighbors about the noise. Furthermore, he was using a drone without permission.

When the agents arrived, the people present began to scold them and throw eggs and stones at them. “The street is ours” and “You have nothing to do here” are some of the phrases that the singer would have uttered on several occasions after the arrival of the agents. “If you keep showing up in the square, this will end badly,” the artist supposedly said. according to what is stated in the prosecutor’s letter. It is estimated that the damage caused to the police cars, of which there were six, cost 2,041 euros, which is the figure that Morad himself has already contributed.

It is not the first time that Morad has been involved in a police problem. In February 2023 he was released after being arrested for threatening an urban guard. She argued with him over a traffic ticket, allegedly threatening to kill him.
