In 2022, Most Normal, took the music scene by storm with their noise and post punk sounds combined with infectious pop melodies. It was the premiere of Gilla Band which inaugurated its new stage after changing its name -previously Girl Band– and helped establish a sonic evolution that accompanied the group to discover new horizons in its musical identity. Now, the Irish group announced Most Normal Remixes (no release date yet), his first remix EP that puts three tracks available to techno and EBM artists, Giant Swan, Grove and Mandy, Ind..

About Most Normal Remixes, the guitarist Alan Duggan He explained that the idea of ​​making a remix EP arose from his interest in understanding the creative processes and tastes of other artists, in addition to his great passion for seeing the transformation that results from the reinterpretation of their songs. The album’s lead single, “Eight Fives” is intervened by the duo Giant Swan –who has accompanied Gilla Band on different tours – and promises to contribute his unconventional vision of techno to match the strangeness of the group through the distortion and faulty cuts of the group’s voices and guitars.

The second remix will have the appearance of the production of the techno-industrial group Mandy, Ind.; who surprised with his debut album i’ve seen a way last year. His treatment of track “Post Ryan” will take advantage of the resonance and reverberation of the song to convert the surreal lyrics of the voice of Dara Kiely in a circular hum.

The musical approach began with the idea of ​​stumbling upon an unlabeled VHS tape that was full of static, distorted images, like a movie. snuff degraded “I played a lot with textures and moments from the original track, looping them and making them the key elements,” he mentions.
