MOTTA signs the soundtrack of “THE CAGE -NELLA GABIA”. Listen to the single “Minotauro” featuring DANNO

Music news

Motta signs the soundtrack of Massimiliano Zanin’s first work “THE CAGE – NELLA GABBIA”, released in cinemas on 22 February.

The director, in his debut in fiction cinema, entrusted Motta with the responsibility of creating the sound atmospheres that accompany the protagonist’s tiring search towards self-awareness and a much desired and fought-for freedom.

THE SINGLE

“MINOTAURO” is released today, the single taken from the soundtrack that Motta edited together with Danno (Colle der Fomento), produced with Stabber, which anticipates the release of the tracklist on digital platforms scheduled for March 5th.

This song had been at a standstill musically more or less since 2017, while I was recording Vivere o Morire – says Motta – so inside there are crazy musicians who played on that record, Mauro Refosco, Bob Angelini, Francesco Pellegrini, Cesare Petulicchio and Stabber who then finalized the mix of this song.

The meeting with Danno, which took place through Luca Mezzosangue whom I will thank forever, was for me one of the most beautiful and important meetings I have had, I think what he does is magical and violently poetic. I’m sure you will like it and I’m happy to have had the patience to wait 7 years, which were neither too many nor too few, they were just right.”

In “Minotauro” Danno’s pen joins the music written by Motta in a track that reveals the struggle to free oneself from the chains in which society and life can cage oneself. Each bar reveals the arduous path of emancipation, underlining how often the key to salvation lies within oneself. The melody joins the lyrics in a dance that follows the progress of a match in the ring, until the moment in which one of the two firmly delivers the victory blow.
