FABRI FIBRA: “IN ITALY 2024” the two versions compared

Music news

She’s gone out IN ITALY 2024 a new version of Fabri Fibra’s iconic 2008 track.

A revisitation of the 2008 masterpiece this time interpreted by Fibra with featuring BABY GANG and EMMA compared to the original version which was produced by Big Fish which featured the voice of Gianna Nannini alongside Fibra.

IN ITALIA 2024 is the demonstration of how a song, 17 years after its publication, can still have something to say, enough to be able to make its own way and make everyone feel the need to be reborn in a new version, with new voices and new rhymes” said FABRI FIBRA who added speaking of the two new featurings

Even in a panorama where rap has changed, in terms of sounds, flow and content, IN ITALY has a sound that still works today and my and Baby Gang’s new verses tell the story of our country today, photographing an even more complex Italy.

To close the song we needed someone who could sing that epic refrain again and Emma was up to the role.”

THE SONGS IN COMPARISON

THE TEXT OF THE ORIGINAL SONG

There are things no one will tell you
There are things that no one will give you
You were born and died here
Born and died here
Born in the land of half-truths

Where are you running to? In Italy
Guns and cars, in Italy
Machiavelli and Foscolo, in Italy
The world champions are in Italy
Welcome in Italy
Take a beach holiday in Italy
Better not to have the operation in Italy
And don’t go to the hospital in Italy
The good life in Italy
The big evenings and galas in Italy
Do business with the mob in Italy
The neighbor who shoots you in Italy

There are things no one will tell you
There are things that no one will give you
You were born and died here
You were born and died here
Born in the land of half-truths
There are things no one will tell you
There are things that no one will give you
You were born and died here
You were born and died here
Born in the land of half-truths

Where are you running to? In Italy
The real mafiosi are in Italy
The most dangerous are in Italy
Girls in the street, in Italy
You eat homemade pasta in Italy
Then thieves break into your house in Italy
You can’t find a permanent job in Italy
But you kiss the crucifix, in Italy
The monuments, in Italy
Churches with paintings, in Italy
People with feelings, in Italy
The campaign and kidnappings in Italy

There are things no one will tell you
There are things that no one will give you
You were born and died here
You were born and died here
Born in the land of half-truths
There are things no one will tell you
There are things that no one will give you
You were born and died here
You were born and died here
Born in the land of half-truths

Where are you running to? In Italy
The girls courted, in Italy
The women photographed, in Italy
Blackmailed models in Italy
Learn art in Italy
People reading cards, in Italy
Murderers never discovered in Italy
Lost votes and certain votes in Italy

There are things no one will tell you
There are things that no one will give you
You were born and died here
You were born and died here
Born in the land of half-truths
There are things no one will tell you
There are things that no one will give you
You were born and died here
You were born and died here
Born in the land of half-truths

Where are you running to? (nanana)
Nana nainaina
Lai la laila lalalala
Where are you running to? (nanana)
Nana nainaina
Lai la laila lalalala

Baby Gang:

Where are you running to? From Italy
Elegant Gucci bag, from Italy
Ferrari and Lamborghini, from Italy
it is full of Maghrebis, in Italy
As? Fascists and racists in command, in Italy
If you light a joint you can end up in a cage,
you take a sentence that you no longer see your mother,
from 2024 to 2040
It’s not Chicago nor Atlanta but we are in Italy,
country of the corrupt and the mafia,
where your money is not safe in the bank
because from one day to the next they can end up in your pocket
It’s not Renato Vallanzasca who pockets,
but here whoever robs wears a jacket and tie
The State discriminates against us only because of our face,
they know that a pen can hurt more than a weapon

There are things no one will tell you
There are things that no one will give you
You were born and died here
You were born and died here
Born in the land of half-truths
There are things no one will tell you
There are things that no one will give you
You were born and died here
You were born and died here
Born in the land of half-truths

Where are you running to? There’s a war on the news every day
If you make money in Italy you have everyone against you
Take to the streets with friends to celebrate,
hands up you can end up like Cucchi
For industry there is a military mind,
Metal Jacket looks like a Stanley Kubrick film
tell me again how many rhymes I have to make,
to hear you say you’re special
How many rhymes do I have to do so as not to end up in a talent show,
so as not to steal, not to deal, not to shoot
I lose faith, it’s a federal crime
Worse is the net or ending up in raids
in the wrong hands, goodbye Tortora
a shower of purple tears
Hope burns here so bro, suffocate
You were born and died here,
born here and died here

There are things no one will tell you
There are things that no one will give you
You were born and died here
You were born and died here
Born in the land of half-truths
(he will tell you)
(he will give you)
(he will tell you)
(he will give you)

THE CARREER

In his twenty-year career, FABRI FIBRA has contributed first to creating and then consolidating the rap scene, making rap the most important genre on the Italian music scene in recent years.
From the first real album “Turbe Giovanili” in 2002 through a revolutionary album like “Traditio” (available from 9 June for the first time on vinyl) up to the latest work “CAOS” (READ THE REVIEW)FABRI FIBRA has demonstrated in 20 years and 10 albums (of which he oversaw every aspect as artistic director) how technique and content can go hand in hand, making rap the new songwriting, a genre capable of conquering all the charts and at the same time at the same time as a spokesperson for a complex and often misunderstood reality.
