JACK SAVORETTI releases “MISS ITALIA”, the first album of unreleased songs completely in Italian

Music news

JACK SAVORETTI returns with a new recording project. “MISS ITALIA” will be released on May 10th, the first album of unreleased songs entirely in Italian by the Italian-English singer-songwriter.

I would like people listening to this record to perceive it as a Jack Savoretti record, without thinking about what language I sing in.

It’s in Italian but it’s Jack Savoretti, it’s not a Savoretti album in Italian”, Jack Savoretti is keen to underline when announcing this new project that is very dear to him.

A bond, that of Jack, with Italian music which was also staged last February 9th on the stage of the Ariston Theater in Sanremo on the occasion of the 74th edition of the Italian Song Festival where Savoretti performed together with Diodate “Love that comes, love that goes” by Fabrizio De André, an artist to whom Savoretti is very attached having been one of the pillars of his artistic training.

THE SINGLE

But that’s not all: on February 22nd, in fact, Zucchero’s “Senza una donna (Without A Woman)” will be released worldwide in a rearranged and reproduced version featuring Jack Savoretti.

For Savoretti, singing this song again (originally published by Zucchero and Paul Young) is not only a great honor but has a profound personal importance for him:

This song allowed me to bring my two identities together for the first time.

On the one hand, Italian, my father’s language which I unfortunately spoke little at the time but which I certainly understood more than my English peers, and on the other, English, the language of my mother who sang it at home in duets with my father.

Without a woman he summed up their union, their relationship, exactly like me, half Italian and half English.”
