Thunder and the mark that Eminem has left on his music

Music news

There are people who are born with talent, and the case of Thunder is a clear example of this. On March 25, 2002, Mateo Palacios Corazzina came into the world. La Boca (Argentina) saw the birth of the son of Pedro and Juliana and grandson of Yamandú, a musician and guitarist known in folklore. Trueno grew up with music. His father —artistically known as Pedro Peligro— is a prominent Uruguayan rapper who over the years has earned the respect of an entire genre. Thanks to Juliana’s support and Pedro’s talent, our protagonist developed an innate love for this art.

At just three years old, he started beatboxing. Stunned by the ease with which he reproduced each sound, Pedro encouraged him to make the leap to hip hop and sang backing vocals for a song. A star was born. At 14, Trueno was a young veteran of the genre and won his first freestyle competition. Subsequentlyhis improvised rhymes became the inspiration of thousands and thousands of people who took him as a reference on the scene.

But in addition to his father, Trueno has always been very clear about who also encouraged him to develop his talent: Eminem. It all started with him. In more than one interview she has assured that the film 8 miles, starring the world-famous rapper, had such an impact on him that he had a clear idea of devoting himself to rap. In fact, as the newspaper Clarín states, it was then that Pedro decided to take him to a Red Bull cockfighting competition to enjoy it and, as soon as he finished, Trueno turned to him and said “I want to play this.”

“I always cared about what they said about me. They said I was overrated because I was small or because my old man was a rapper and I thought what did I do wrong? It was difficult for me, but now I understand that I can’t stop at that. Even the best have haters and “At the end of the day, they are more loyal than the fans.”he says in this same interview.

The influence of 8 miles

Why did the film starring Eminem impact the Argentine artist so much? In the mid-2000s, this story was released that tells how a young Jimmy (played by Eminem) wants to enter the rap genre and earn the respect of a scene in which black rappers predominate. He lives in a poor neighborhood of Detroit and life doesn’t seem to smile on him. He has difficulties in his personal life but his passion for music, hip hop and rap gives him that drive to make his dreams come true. Music is the only one that understands him and holds his hand in the worst moments. Therefore, he participates in battles in some clubs in the area to escape. He wants to change his future, make it better and enjoy it.

This struck a deep chord with Trueno, who saw his situation clearly. Hip hop has become his tool of expression with lyrics full of social complaints and personal situations. “I’m in love with rap and hip hop,” he said in an interview with WECB Urban.

Now Trueno is a reference for the new generations of rap. He is ready to present his new studio album, with which he will pay tribute to this genre in which he expresses every part of him.

Music never let go of his hand. Rhymes are his medicine.
