This series of singles begins with the release of “Change Your God” and will continue with monthly single releases scheduled through April.
The trajectory of A Place To Bury Strangers It began in 2003 as a musical project that arose from the ideas of the musician and composer Oliver Ackermann. The noise rock group released their latest studio material, See Through You, in 2022 as a result of an extensive creative process that managed to find more than 13 new songs to compose the album. Several of the songs that were not included on the album at the time will now be available as a series of singles through the record label. Deadstrange –founded by himself Ackerman–.
“Even though they are a bit raw and personal, I thought it would be a mistake if these songs didn’t come out. I thought it would be a good idea to go back to my roots and release a series of 7 inch vinyls in the same way it started A Place To Bury Strangers. This new series of singles, The Sevens, consists of four releases in 7-inch vinyl format that will include two unreleased songs each. The first release in this series comes in the form of “Change Your God/It Is Time,” The digital version is available starting today and will be available physically starting Friday, February 23.
Accompanying the announcement of, The Sevens, A Place To Bury Strangers premieres “Change Your God” along with a video clip that combines images of nature and the city until they explode in a fire that engulfs a house in the middle of the countryside.
This first single is a burst of saturated sounds that intersperse their power with softer melodies where the deep voice of Ackerman take control.
