“Training Season”, Dua Lipa’s new single

Music news

Dua Lipa is finally releasing the song she first debuted during her Grammy Awards performance.

Valentine’s Day has passed, but Dua Lipa is still looking for someone to give her heart to… In her latest single ” Training Season », the singer gets tired of her own judgment and fears that she will never know how to make the right choices.

The track was released alongside a video directed by Vincent Haycock, which opens with Lipa’s voicemail inundated with apologies and requests for a second chance. As the singer sits alone in a cafe, men compete for her attention and the room begins to spin into a dizzying, chaotic scene.

The singer also released an extended, instrumental, a capella version of the new song.

When Lipa announced the title last month, she explained: “ I’ve had a series of bad dates, and the last one was the straw that broke the camel’s back… »

I have never felt so confident, so clear and so powerfulshe added about the title. And even though training season is never over for any of us, you begin to see the beauty of finding the person to experience this with. We stop looking for interns and are more interested in the possibility of having someone where we are and to grow with. »

Training Season ” is the second single from Lipa’s third studio album, which has no title yet but is expected to be released this year. She kicked off this new era by publishing “ Houdini ” in November.

The time I spent in the studio, working with different people, refining my craft and writing so many songs, allowed me to gain confidence in myself and what I wantLipa told WECB at the time of the release of “ Houdini “. I felt like my voice got stronger through touring, and there are so many different layers to how I’ve progressed as an artist. It was very easy for me to not get sidetracked by all these other incredible artists. »
