For eight years, Jlo has made her fans yearn for new sounds. The big day is finally here. Jennifer Lopez makes her comeback with her new album entitled “This is Me… Now”, this Friday February 16. The singer also unveiled the same day the musical film “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story” on Prime Video.
In 2002, Jennifer Lopez unveiled “This Is Me… Then”, the third album of her career. A huge success filled with romantic hits mixing pop and RnB. An opus which coincided with her first engagement to Ben Affleck (quickly canceled). Twenty years later, the singer got back together with the actor and even finally married him. Happier than ever, Jennifer Lopez shares all her feelings in “This is Me…Now”.
“It’s much more personal than anything I’ve ever done in music.” the superstar told us about this new album, in an interview for WECB. “ When Ben Affleck and I got back together, I was really inspired to make music again. Obviously, something surreal and very magical happened at the same time.” added Jlo, more romantic than ever.
Among the titles of this newly unveiled project, we find the previously heard single “Can’t Get Enough” but also tributes to Jennifer Lopez’s lover. With an open heart, the singer and actress even dedicates a title to Ben Affleck.
“Dear Ben pt. II” is the sequel to “Dear Ben” from the album released in 2002. When I think you might let me down, you come and create a glimmer of hope », she interprets about their flashback, two decades later.
Jennifer Lopez: an album, a film, a tour
For her return to the forefront of the musical scene, Jennifer Lopez is not doing things by halves. The singer is not only releasing a new album, she is also sharing a musical film on Amazon Prime Video, available this Friday.
“This Is Me…Now: A Love Story” combines fiction and personal history. “There was another part of the story to tell besides my opus. I knew a music video wouldn’t be enough. That’s why I created this musical experience. My albums are the celebration of love. The story that happens between each of them is the magic of this film. It’s not just a love story between two people. It’s something much bigger than that.», Reveals Jlo about this musical feature film, in an interview on the Prime Video Instagram account.
Jennifer Lopez doesn’t stop there and intends to make an impact in 2024 by embarking on a major tour. She will hit the road this summer and perform in concerts in more than 30 American cities. For the moment the superstar has not announced any dates in Europe.
