Johnny Marr unveils the video for “The Answer”, his latest single. Directed by Phillip Osborne, it is available via the player below:

This title is one of two unreleased releases from Spirit Power, his latest best of to date. “ I’ve played a lot of arenas over the years, and in terms of writing, there’s nowhere to hidehe declared in a press release at the time of the release of “Somewhere”, the other unreleased. For a song to work, it has to be great. I know it’s not very cool to think in those terms, but I grew up in a house where my parents listened to Motown, where you couldn’t release a song if it wasn’t full of hooks. »

This best of appears after the release of Fever Dreams Pts. 1-4, released in 2022. Interviewed by the editorial staff, he explains the purpose of this record: “I wanted to talk about how being a human is sometimes confusing, about the perception of time, about consciousness… because what happened to the world was crazy! I was very confused, sometimes feeling like a stranger to myself and wanting to be connected to others. This period makes us ask ourselves a lot of questions about what we are doing with our lives, why we are doing it. »
