Sandra NkakĂ© – I’M NOT AFRAID / My Heart
After releasing the immense Scars in 2023, the talented and versatile Sandra NkakĂ© unveils a remix of “My Heart”, entitled “I’M NOT AFRAID / My Heart”. This is the first in a series of remixes scheduled for release on March 8, International Women’s Day. This same day an expanded version of his latest album will be available.
Michael Marcagi – Scared To Start
Discover “Scared To Start”, the new track from young American talent Michael Marcagi, who combines pop, country music, folk and Americana in his compositions. To be found in American Romance, his very first EP, already available.
Sweet Needles – Spins in circles
Hard rock band Sweet Needles turns up the knobs on their new single “Tourne en Rond,” in which a burst of youthful energy meets instrumental talent. It remains to be seen what the Parisians have in store for their audience for the follow-up to Tormenta, their first album, released in 2021.
Kid Colling Cartel – Living On The Wild Side
Skillfully mixing soul, funk and rock, Kid Colling Cartel still exhibits his mastery with “Living On The Wild Side”, his new single, accompanied by a music video. This title is also that of the project’s new album, available since Friday February 9.
Yard Act – When The Laughter Stops
The English alternative pop group Yard Act marks the end of recess with “When The Laughter Stops”, its energetic and original new single, in which we find a participation from Katy J Pearson. To be found in the album Where’s My Utopia, whose release is announced on March 1st.
Jon Muq – Shake Shake
Ugandan-born bluesman Jon Muq returns with a new single titled “Shake Shake”. Still produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, this single full of melody and nuance bodes well for Flying Away, his next studio album, scheduled for May 31.
Johnnie Carwash – Aha (it’s ok)
The grungy French trio Johnnie Carwash unveils “Aha (it’s ok)”, a bittersweet new track, which embraces its pop accents as well as its old school aspect, present in its clip filmed on a camcorder. A title as original as it is endearing to discover now.
W!ZARD – JACK IS A SOCIOPATH
Navigating between post-punk, garage rock and even a few touches reminiscent of Red Hot Chili Peppers, W!ZARD unveils a new single entitled “JACK IS A SOCIOPATH”. Energy and strangeness form an atypical alliance for an explosive result. It makes a perfect transition between the EP Definitely Unfinished, defined by the group as “ noise and raw”, and our their next album NOT GOOD ENOUGH, “no longer produced but still makes you grit your teeth”.
Alberta Cross – Never Gonna Walk Away
Swedish artist Alberta Cross releases a new single this week called “Never Walk Away”. Described as “an indie and good festive anthem”, this title is about “someone who falls in love with an exotic dancer who almost has the spirit of Bob Dylan’s “Highway 69 Revisited”.
These Wicked Rivers – The Riverboat Man
Make way for big hard rock riffs with These Wicked Rivers, a British group preparing to release a new album, entitled Force of Nature, scheduled for March 1st. Before that, discover The Riverboat Man, an energetic and catchy title taken from it.
